"I really do love you, Subaru-kun.." -- Seishirou

The love between Seishirou and Subaru ultimately "extinguish" the hate between the two bitter rivals, the Sumeragi and Sakurazukamori clans; Seishirou has proven that he is capable of love, and not only is this true, but his affection is directed towards his "enemy", Subaru, the head of his rivalling clan. As much as Lady Sumeragi disapprove of their relationship, fearing their falling in love with bring destruction to the Sumeragi clan, she is literally powerless to stop Subaru pursuing his romance with Seishirou as the onmyouji (and even his twin sister) has a tendency of disobeying and violating his grandmother's wishes.

Throughout the series, as Seishirou and Subaru's feelings for each other grow stronger, the hatred between the two clans seem to gradually dissolve amidst their love. Even if Seishirou had to follow the rules of his clan and destroy Subaru, his "prey", the incident with him losing his right eye shows that it's possible their love will never disappear.

As a matter of fact, Subaru and Seishirou's love is still explored in the X manga, and as their love is re-ignited on their second encounter, Seishirou's last words before his death in X16 is proof of his never-ending love and affection for his "Subaru-kun"; having been obsessed with Subaru since his teenage years, Seishirou is more than likely to harbor feelings for him in his heart, despite his attempt to feign indifference and apathy towards his love in X.
