Seiyuu History
Yamaguchi Kappei is the pseudonym of Yamaguchi Mitsuo who works for 21 Seiki Fox. Much like Itou Miki, Yamaguchi-san has faded into obscurity in the anime world due to his minor roles and back-up voice acting. He has voiced many characters from anime series that most of us haven't heard of, however, his most acclaimed roles are probably Higashikumaru Kentaro from CLAMP's "Clamp Gakuen Tanteidan", Sakuma Ryuuichi in "Gravitation", Inuyasha from Takahashi Rumiko's "Inuyasha", Tombo from Miyazaki Hayao's "Kiki's Delivery Service", Yoshida Taro in "Mahou no Stage Fancy Lala", Osamu Wakabayashi from "Mamono Hunter Yohko", Saotome Ranma from "Ranma ½"'s debut, Subaru-kun from Tokyo Babylon and Takuro from "Wedding Peach". Even so, Yamaguchi-san doesn't seem to be receiving much credit for lending his voice from fans of the mentioned series. Narrowing down the possible series he would receive recognition are "Inuyasha", "Kiki's Delivery Service", "Ranma ½" and for voicing Su-chan in TB. One interesting thing to note is that Yamaguchi Kappei seems to have work in the many series as do Koyasu Takehito, such as "Ashita he Free Kick", "Beastwars", "Betterman", "CLAMP Gakuen Tanteidan", "Dagwon", "Idol Tenshi Youkoso Yoko", "Mahoujin Guru Guru", "Ranma ½", "Rurouni Kenshin", "Tokyo Babylon" and more.

Be it the talent of every seiyuu's, yet Yamaguchi-san can skilfully manipulate the tone of his voice, whether it's a deep tenor or a alto cute voice to suit the persona of the character he's playing. This is a major assistance in voice acting, if you've heard Yamaguchi in one anime, you may not be able to recognize him in another. I haven't heard many of his performances, but I absolutely love his voice casting in "Gravitation" as Sakuma Ryuichi, one of my favorite anime characters.
